Introduction to the Position

- The Department of Public Health at Miva Open University is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the position of Lecturer I or Senior Lecturer.
- The successful candidate will hold a doctorate degree (PhD) in Public Health or a related field and will contribute to the academic mission of the university by delivering innovative high-quality lectures, engaging in research activities, and supporting student learning experience.
Responsibilities
Teaching:
- Deliver undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Public Health.
- Develop and maintain innovative course materials, including syllabi, lecture notes, and assignments.
- Foster a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.
Research:
- Conduct scholarly research in the field of Public Health.
- Publish research findings in reputable conference proceedings and journals.
- Collaborate with colleagues and students on research projects.
Service:
- Engage in departmental and university service activities.
- Participate in academic committees and contribute to the development of departmental policies and programs.
- Assist in student recruitment and outreach activities.
Professional Development:
- Stay current with advancements in Public Health by attending conferences, workshops, and training sessions.
- Continuously update teaching methods and course content to reflect industry trends and emerging technologies.

Experience and credentials:
Qualifications
- A PhD in Public Health or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- A passion for teaching and the ability to engage students in the learning process.
- Demonstrated potential for research and scholarly activities.
- Proficiency in relevant programming languages and software tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education.
- Prior teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level.
- Industry experience in Public Health or a related field.
- Research publications in peer-reviewed journals or conferences.
- Familiarity with modern pedagogical techniques and educational technology.
- Evidence of involvement in academic or professional organizations.
Salary
N700,000 – N800,000 (Net) per month, with benefits.
