About the job
- We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor/Cost Estimator with expertise in brownfield projects to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost estimation, be capable of independently arranging commercial figures, and possess a deep understanding of cost structures in brownfield operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop accurate cost estimates for brownfield projects, considering material, labor, equipment, and indirect costs.
- Independently prepare commercial figures, ensuring alignment with project budgets and cost control strategies.
- Analyze engineering drawings, specifications, and project scopes to identify cost drivers.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to validate estimates and cost assumptions.
- Perform risk analysis and cost optimization, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
- Support the preparation of tender documents, proposals, and contract negotiations with vendors and subcontractors.
- Track actual costs versus estimated costs and provide variance reports for continuous improvement.

Experience and credentials:

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in cost estimation or cost engineering, particularly in brownfield projects.
- Strong understanding of project cost control principles, financial modeling, and forecasting.
- Ability to work independently and handle complex commercial figures with minimal supervision.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with contractual terms, procurement processes, and industry cost databases.
